IndiGo Forgets Luggage Of All Passengers On Delhi-Istanbul Flight

This is probably this year’s biggest airline mishap! Indigo Airline forgot to load luggage of all the onboard passengers on their Delhi-Istanbul flight named ‘IndiGo6E flight 6E 11’ on the 15th of September 2019. This huge mistake from the airline’s end has put their reputation in jeopardy gibing birth to #ShameOnIndigo. After the incident, a huge number of people shared similar incidents that happened with them while flying with the airline.

You might have thought leaving behind your boarding pass r your passport would be the biggest mistake of your life. But what if you take all the precautions and the airline ends up messing it all? Yes, the very shocking incident happened with 130 indigo passengers in Delhi- Istanbul flight. The incident came to light when Chinmay Dabke who was on Delhi-Istanbul flight shared this on twitter.

There are a bunch of tweets from his account but it all started from this very first one where mentions the copy of an apology letter that the airline gave all the passengers which stated that due to some operational issue, baggage was left behind.  Chiamyas caption read – “Just flew in on @IndiGo6E flight 6E 11 from Delhi to Istanbul last evening. We received this piece of paper when we were waiting for our luggage at the belt. The airline did not load the luggage of the ENTIRE FLIGHT. Not a single passenger got their luggage (1/n) #shameonindigo.”

Further tweets sparked absolute anger against Indigo airline. Chinmay’s next tweet was captioned – How can an airline as big as @IndiGo6E “forget” or “miss out” on loading luggage? I get you forgot the luggage for a few people on the flight. But the ENTIRE flight? What are Indian operations in Delhi doing? (2/n) #shameonindigo.

His reply to the tweet brought in a major issue that some passengers might be facing. He said – “My father has his necessary medication in his luggage. He is a diabetes patient who needs his daily dose. Some other travellers were on connecting flights to their end destinations in different countries. What do these folks do?”

The only positive thing that happened was the ground staff at Istanbul airport were cooperative and helped everyone to identify their luggage.

These chain of tweets sparked a lot of anger and people who faced the same issues starting sharing their incidents from the flights before this. They said this is not the first time the airline forgot someone’s luggage and passengers had to face the brunt. A tweet from Aishwarya Gadkari showed the exact difficulties that passengers of Indigo airline would have to face.

This incident would freak anyone and I cannot imagine the people or solo travellers who were flying for the very first time. The Delhi-Istanbul flight had 130 passengers and some were old, some kids, some on medication and others who had connecting flights, but none of them deserved this. Even if the airline apologised and provided for everything later, such unacceptable mistakes might have cost people a lot.
