Indulge in The Raja Bhogam Thali At Carnival Restaurant, Chennai

This Carnival Hotel in Chennai serves 25 types of dishes in one banana leaf. Can you guess what else is interesting? All 25 items are UNLIMITED and most of them are non-veg! The restaurant is popular for its authentic Chetinadu cuisine.

When we think of South Indian food, we only picture Idli Vada and Dosa which is mostly vegetarian and preferred for breakfast. But this Raja Bhog Thali will throw all your stereotypes right out of the window.

They call this ‘Mr. Raj Bhogam Thali’ and it is the specialty here. The thali consists of six different types of meat (Oh My!) Some of the items this thali includes are Chicken Chukka, Mutton Chukka, IIaneer Payasam, Rice and Rasam, Prawns, Biryani, Butter Milk, and Kheer.

Carnival serves traditional Tamil food and the restaurant has been successfully running for three years now. The leaf that they serve food in is considered auspicious and they also believe that if you sprinkle water on the banana leaf it enhances the taste of the food. Isn’t that interesting? They serve beverages like buttermilk along with the meal that balances out and helps you digest your meal.

If you are in Chennai, you should definitely come down to The Carnival Restaurant to taste some authentic South Indian Cuisine which is not only delicious but also very healthy!
