Raise your hands if you are someone who sips on diet sodas more than drinking water! Well, there are so many people around us who are huge fans of these sodas and simply cannot spend a day without drinking these soft drinks. Unfortunately, we have some shockingly bad news to share about these packaged drinks. Aspartame is a very commonly-used artificial sweetener in these diet sodas and these will soon be declared as a possible carcinogen.

The World Health Organisation Is Set To Make Some Surprising Revelations About Aspartame

This artificial sweetener is not only restricted to use in diet sodas. In fact, it is one of the most common artificial sweeteners. It is used in the making of so many food items such as sugar-free jams, sugar-free gelatin, sugar-free gums, condiments with less sugar, and more. Aspartame will be declared a “possible carcinogen” by the World Health Organisation very soon. In the month of July, the International Agency for Research on Cancer will list this ingredient in the category of being a possible carcinogen causing cancer. The International Agency for Research on Cancer is the cancer research agency of WHO.

According to a report by ABP Live, a meeting was held in June to come to the conclusion of this research and announce the final decision. External experts were present in the meeting to discuss about this report by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

Coca-Cola’s Stock Price Took A Dip!

People are surely getting very concerned after all these news and statements on aspartame. Once the news of this sweetener being a possible carcinogen began making headlines, it became the talk of the town soon. The stock price of Coca-Cola saw a huge dip on 29 June 2023. According to the ABP Live report, the stock price came down to $60.02 apiece.
