Milan’s popularity can be clearly seen with over 22 million hashtags on Instagram and 97 billion TikTok views. The city’s beautiful and fashionable neighbourhoods, as well as its iconic landmarks, make it ideal for Instagram posts.
The city, which is famous across the globe for its art and architecture, houses some of the most picturesque attractions. Piazza del Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Sforza Castle, and Basilica di Sant’Ambrogio are some of them. Milan came in first, followed by London, Paris, Istanbul, and New York, all of which made the top five on the list of the world’s 50 most Instagrammable cities.

While curating this list, they use a scoring system that analyses TikTok views and the number of hashtags associated with a particular destination. They also consider a sample survey from Big 7 Media’s global editorial team and 1.5 million audience members. The ranking is sorted by keeping the popularity on social media and the visual beauty of the destination in mind.

- Chicago, US
- Bali, Indonesia

Last year, Singapore topped the list, and this year it is in the 13th spot. Sydney, which topped the list in 2019 and 2020, this year holds the 10th position.
