Rahul Gandhi Compares Nasty Remarks By Trolls As Gifts, His Choice To Take It Or Leave It | Curly Tales

Being a politician from a politically well-known family does not guarantee you will receive no criticism. The national president of the Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi, too has to face his share of hate and negativity from trolls. This Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani met one of the most inspiring politicians today, Rahul Gandhi, for a Sunday dinner where we got to know him more as a person.

Rahul Gandhi Calls Nasty Remarks As Gifts

Being in the limelight and being a politician teaches one a lot. Politicians and celebrities are subjected to a great deal of negativity and criticism in the age of social media. Our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani asked Rahul Gandhi about how he looks at them and his idea of dealing with them. He gave a very simple yet amazing example where he picked up a plate, named it the gift of anger, and asked Kamiya to give it to him. When Kamiya offered it to him, he did not take it.

He said that he treats all the nasty comments that he gets from trolls as gifts. It is completely his choice to take it or leave it, just like we do with gifts. He also mentioned that when a troll offers him a gift of anger, he first tries to know the reason. If he finds the reason to be a valid one, he accepts that gift of anger as well.  If not, he leaves it there.

Truth Is Rahul’s Idea Of Spirituality

As Rahul spoke about the trolls and his way of dealing with them, Kamiya Jani asked Rahul to state his idea of spirituality. Pat came his answer, “Truth.” He said, ” In my view, there is only one spirituality, which is that you have the guts to face your life with honesty and be nice to people.”. According to him, being nice to people, listening and understanding them, and being affectionate towards them is what his religion is.
