Where there’s food, entertainment and pizzazz, there has to be Malaika Arora. Bollywood’s superbly talented dance and beloved TV show judge has now turned into a restaurateur with her son Arhaan Khan. The Scarlett House, a chic eatery in Bandra, Mumbai, is Malaika Arora’s pet and pet (tummy) project! At this restaurant, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani bonded with Malaika over their Chembur connection, balancing personal and professional life and more as they devoured the lavish Sunday Brunch spread.
Malaika Arora Talks About Managing Her Personal & Professional Life
While talking to Kamiya, Malaika Arora revealed how she balances her professional and personal life. And we’re certainly taking notes! Our Editor-in-Chief asked her, “How does one strike a balance between personal and professional life, especially women?” To this, Malaika answered that it’s important to have a secure partner. It’s very important for successful women to have secure partners in their lives, in her opinion.
She elaborated on how one needs to have a partner who is secure with the success and ambition of the woman in his life. “The minute a partner is a little bit uncomfortable with that then it’s a bit of an issue,” says the diva. Moreover, she stresses that women don’t give themselves credit for being able to balance their personal and professional lives well. “We are wonderful when it comes to balancing our personal and professional lives.” But Malaika Arora does elaborate that there are exceptions to his rule.
“Women Should Give Themselves More Credit”
And then points out that some women may want to take a backseat and some are okay with it. But she feels it’s a personal decision. She gave the example of her sister actress Amrita Arora who was a working woman but after marriage decided to take a backseat from her work life to spend time with her kids. Being a homemaker is no less than being a working woman, it’s just a choice, believes Malaika. And we couldn’t agree more with the diva’s wise words.
