Nestled in the Nadia district, Shantipur is one of these places that worship Maa Kali with pomp, glory, and extravagant festivities every year. Videos of the iconic Bama Kali Bhasan are making rounds on social media platforms. These viral footage and clips show how thousands and lakhs of devotees attend the procession event and join to carry Maa on their shoulders. It is a traditional ritual for followers to carry the idol on their shoulders and make her dance.

This interesting centuries-old custom is followed before immersing Maa in the holy river. With the popularity of the event increasing due to social media, more and more devotees rush to Shantipur to witness the magic.

Over the years, East Burdwan district’s Katwa has gained immense popularity for its surreal Kali Puja celebrations. As shown in the video, thousands of devotees hold fire torches for Maa Boltala Kali and make the way for her immersion. A huge crowd attends the magnificent event every year and chants Maa’s name with devotion.
