Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj, who was a prominent Jain Muni, passed away today at the age of 77. Many were saddened to hear of his demise and expressed their condolences. The Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, was one of the people who expressed their heartfelt condolence. He even shared pictures of when he visited the Maharaj last year and received his blessings at the Chandragiri Teerth Jain Mandir in Chhattisgarh. 

Jain Muni Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj Passes Away At 77

According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times or HT, the prominent Jain muni passed away on Sunday morning at Chandragiri Teerth Jain Mandir which is located in Chhattisgarh’s Dongargarh.

The Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, expressed his heartfelt condolences at his passing. He recalled the time he got the chance to meet him and be blessed by him. He even shared pictures of his visit.

Last year in November, PM Modi visited the Chandragiri Teerth Jain Mandir and received the blessings of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyashagar Maharaj.

Who Was This Renowned And Revered Jain Muni?

Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj was the most renowned saint of the Digambar Jain community. He was widely known for his deep spiritual wisdom and profound scholarly pursuits. The saint was born in Sadalga which is located in Karnataka on October 10, 1946.

He began his spiritual journey as a monk at the tender age of 22 and was initiated by Acharya Gyansagar Ji Maharaj. The saint attained the Acharya status in 1972. He had a firm grasp of languages like Sanskrit, Prakrit and more. He has also penned many profound commentaries, poems, and other spiritual works.

Many people share on social media how saddened they were to hear of such a profound loss.
