Types of Japanese Visa

Tourist Visa – Tourist visa is for people who want to visit Japan for tourism purposes, visiting their family, friends or relatives. This visa has many more bifurcations like a visa for people who aren’t travelling with their guardians, visa for people who want to visit the country with their guardians. Multiple entry visa form – Similar to single entry visa, you will be allowed for 3 months in the country. You can enter the country more than once in your visit. Transit Visa – Transit visa is applicable for people who want to take a connecting flight from Japan to another country. This visa allows your entry for a short period (maximum stay allowed for 15 days). It will take at least 4-5 working days for your visa to arrive. The visa fees for Transit Visa is ₹ 50 (Do check the latest visa fees before your trip) The fees may increase as there are service charges, taxes and GST.

Student Visa – This visa can be only applicable for students who have already got admission in the University of Japan. Documents Required For Japenese Visa

Valid Passport (active for 6 months) along with any old passports
-Visa application form (based on the type of visa)
-Visa fee receipt (Depending on the type of visa)
-Financial Statement (e.g. Bank statement that is not older than 3 months)
-Round Trip Flight Tickets
-2 passport photographs (Recently Clicked)
– Proof of hotel bookings
-Itinerary of the entire trip
– A letter of invitation from a friend or family member if they sponsor you.
– Income Tax Return (ITR) form
– Medical Test Reports
– Insurance for the time period you will be in Japan

Please Note: For people travelling on Business trips, you will require additional documents like a letter from their office stating the reason, a letter from the company that you will be doing business with they must mention the purpose of business, invite you to their company and also mention what the nature of business will be.

For Employed individuals – A letter of leave that is approved from the office or a NOC from the employer.

For Students or Children travelling without a guardian – A letter from their parents or guardians allowing them to travel. They must have ID proof, a certificate from school/college that allows their visit, proof of their relationship with the parents or guardians.
