On Thursday, the Indian National Congress announced that Siddaramaiah, the 75 years old veteran leader, will be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka. Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, Bengaluru
Sampangi Outdoor Stadium, often referred to as Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, is a multi-use stadium in Bangalore, India. It has two outdoor rock climbing walls, a volleyball court, and a running track. The Government of Karnataka’s Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports is the owner of the stadium. It is Bangalore’s largest sports complex.
The stadium’s centre arena includes an eight-lane, 400-metre synthetic track for athletic competitions, as well as synthetic-surfaced areas for field events such as shot put, discus, javelin and hammer throws, as well as long jump, high jump, triple leap and pole vault. The stadium not only accommodates sporting events but also exhibitions, rallies, and walkathons. Before the current synthetic track was installed, the stadium’s six-lane cinder track was used where Milkha Singh, a sprinter, trained.
The inner field and lower spectator stands are accessible via four substantial arched entrances throughout the stadium. Eight ramps transport people to the stadium’s upper stands. Therefore, the stadium is served by a total of 12 spectator gates.
