Kerala: Heavy Rainfall Wreaks Havoc In Kochi & Thiruvananthapuram; Canals Overflowed, Roads Flooded

It has been a few days since different parts of Kerala are witnessing heavy rainfall. From Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram to Idukki, incessant rainfall has created havoc across Kerala. Social media users are taking to different platforms to share glimpses of the present weather updates. From waterlogging to flood-like situations, let’s take a look at conditions in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and other places in Kerala.

Rainfall Updates Of Kochi And Thiruvananthapuram

Rahul R (@rahool360) took to the X platform to share pictures and videos of different areas of Kochi getting drenched because of rainfall.

Both these cities in Kerala received continuous massive downpours in the past couple of days. Rainfall at a stretch has now led to a massive problem for residents as many roads are flooding badly. With waterlogging in many areas, water is seeping into houses as well.

Taking to X, ರವಿ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಗೌಡ (@ravikeerthi22) shared an update on the weather on Sunday.

Kundannoor and Vyttila roads are waterlogged horribly, according to a report by Onmanorama. Houses and shops located in the low areas of Thiruvananthapuram are currently in bad condition.

Vishnu K Sajeev (@vishnu_ksajeev) shared a snippet of the aftermath of heavy rainfall at the Edappally Junction.

This picture shows the consequences of heavy rain near a road construction area. With rainwater and an under-construction situation, the situation turned quite messy and unpleasant to walk by. The scary part is that Kochi’s weather forecast predicts massive downpours for the upcoming few days.
