Apart from birds, this lagoon also hosts a large number of endangered plants and animals. Infact Chilika Lake is also the single largest habitat of Irrawaddy dolphins in the world. 2. Pulicat Lake In Tamil Nadu

Ramsar Convention for the sustainable use of wetlands protects the Vembanad Lake. This lagoon gets both sea and freshwater from the rivers. It’s also Kerala’s largest freshwater lake that stretches all the way from Cochin to Alappuzha.
