Listen up, residents & tourists! Louvre Abu Dhabi has an interesting addition within its campus and this one’s for kids. The Louvre is now home to a pretty children’s museum, attracting little artists and history enthusiasts to the capital. So, if you’re heading to Abu Dhabi this summer, here’s what you must not miss out at the Louvre!
What’s It?
Louvre Abu Dhabi is getting a cool new museum for kids and its worth every penny. The museum which was closed for renovation is now opening on 9 July. The museum aims to inspire young minds by giving children an insight of the artistic techniques and ideas.
On the opening day, kids can be part of a Costume Adventure- an event that will give history lovers a sneak peek into the wardrobes of great people from the past. From 9 July 2019 to July 2020, kids can explore and even dress up like their favourite historic personality.
Kids can also enjoy access to the Toddler space- an interactive play area with games and challenges. The museum is reserved for kids between 6-12 years.

Meanwhile, did you know you can now kayak right under the beautiful dome of the Louvre in Abu Dhabi? And you can explore the museum as you cruise along the waters, even if you’ve never kayaked before.
A professional instructor from the Sea Hawk Sports crew will be there to guide you through a basic briefing of how to row and paddle followed by a life-jacket fitting. Post this, you’ll have the kayak to your own self, if you wish!
If not, you can always have an instructor on board and kayak through the waters and view the museum. There are guided tours that are conducted by Sea Hawk Sports every Friday and Saturday. These happen between 10 am and 5 pm and cost AED 120 per person.
