Winter is here in Dubai and after being cooped up, its finally time to head outdoors! From long drives to hiking up the terrains for a stunning sunset, UAE has a lot to offer. And now, there’s something new you can add to our outdoor winter bucket list. A hiking path in Sharjah has recently been grabbing a lot of attention. The Al Rabi hike path in Khorfakkan is docked 400 feet above the ground and offers breathtaking views. Mountain lovers- are you listening?

Enjoy Views Of The ‘Secret Beach’ From Atop The Mountain 

The hike will take you about two to three hours and is perfect for beginners. The trail starts at the Al Rabi Tower- a fort that was built in 1915. The trail then takes you along a lot of zigzags up the mountains, offering you photo ops over Khor Fakkan and the Indian Ocean. Although the hike is technically not a difficult one, it must not be underestimated. The elevation climbs approximately 250m from the trail start.

There are various vantage and rest stops along the way. So if you get tired you can always go back the same way you came. The whole trail, the camping areas and the resting spots are absolutely free, so in case you’re wondering what to do this weekend, this might just be a great option.

Hiking Trails In UAE All Thrill Seekers Must Try

1. Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah

This hiking trail at Jebel Jais, is a 4 km track that has unrivalled views. The mountain is at a height of 1,300 metres, and once you’re at the peak, you can find a beautiful 180 degrees view of the entire mountain. The trip takes about 2/3 hours to complete and the difficulty level is low. It takes approximately 2 hours to get there.

2. Hajar Hiking Trail, Fujairah

This trail in Dibba is at a picturesque valley, and is home to a beautiful 5 km hike. The level of difficulty is slightly tough, however, the end destination is worth the wait. The route is steep, and is a challenging climb along a twisted trail that starts at the valley floor, and ends at the top of the mountain. As you walk up the trail, you’ll pass by small villages, and old houses. The glistening lake at the bottom of the valley reflects the sun, giving way to a resplendent view.

3. Wadi Monay, Ras Al Khaimah

This trail is for beginners, and consists of a 1.5 km hiking route. The hike is approximately 3-4 hours and takes people across remnants of ancient societies, and breathtaking views. The hike is also great for kids, and has intriguing plants, rocks, and animals on the way. Also It’s just a 1 and a half hour drive away from Dubai.
