On weekends and public holidays, the fort usually welcomes around 4,000 to 5,000 visitors each day. However, as per News18, local residents say that similar crowds are now arriving even on regular weekdays.
The name “Lohagad” means “Iron Fort.” The origins of this place date back nearly 2,000 years to the Satavahana period. The fort is located around 11 kilometres from Lonavala and about 60 kilometres from Pune. Visitors can easily reach it through Malavli railway station.
