If you are planning your trip to Malaysia, then here is great news! Malaysia shall resume visa-on-arrival for Indian tourists from May 1, 2022, after a rigorous lockdown and travel restrictions. But on the other hand, travellers visiting Malaysia must follow a set of rules that you must follow at all times. Have you made any arrangements to go to Malaysia as a result of the decision taken by the government there?

Here’s What You Must Know

As Malaysia resumes visa-on-arrival, travellers have to keep a few things in mind:  

  • You should complete the RTK-Ag test within 24 hours of arrival in Malaysia by all visitors to the country.
  • Prior to travelling to Malaysia, fully vaccinated travellers infected with COVID-19 within the past 60 days must have a professionally given RTK-Ag.
  • You should fill out a pre-departure form by all passengers with you travelling to Malaysia by downloading and activating the MySejahtera contact tracking app.
  • Those not completely vaccinated against COVID-19 must still pass an RT-PCR test two days before departure and an RTK-Ag test within 24 hours of arrival in Malaysia, as well as a five-day quarantine (quarantine exemption is only for those aged 17 and below).
  • The use of face masks is optional and not mandatory in public areas.

Rules For Visa-on-Arrival To Malaysia for Indian Travellers 

  • Indian travellers visiting Malaysia for a maximum of 15 days can apply for the eNTRI visa. It’s valid for 3 months. 
  • VOA costs are RM 200.00 and visitors must prove that they have at least USD 500 cash (or equivalent in Ringgit Malaysia) and a confirmed return ticket. Visitors are only permitted to remain for 15 days.
