In a turn of events that left everyone in shock, a man was found mauled to death in Pakistan’s Bahawalpur Zoo. According to an article which was recently published by CBS News, a staff was cleaning the cage of big cats. While cleaning, they saw that one of the big cats had a shoe in their mouth. Curious as to how the cat found it, they started searching the den for clues.

What they found was the body of a man mauled to death by four big cats. The term used for big cats by an official when commenting on the incident meant both tigers and leopards. It is therefore unclear as to which den the body was found in. The zoo houses both of these big cats. All that is known is that there were four cats by whom the man was mauled.

The identity of the man is yet to be determined. The zoo in which the man was found is called Bahawalpur Sherbagh Zoo and is located in the eastern province of Pakistan’s Punjab. Zaheer Anwar, who is the official cited in the CBS article, said that as per their assessment, it is likely that the person found was mentally unstable. No sensible person would jump in the den, according to him.
