Devaiah Bopanna is an ad-maker who took to Instagram to share how social media has ruined travel for him! The man shared a long post that talked about how Instagram has ruined travel for him. According to him, none of the places he visits look as good in real life as they do on Instagram. He said that digitally enhanced photos hide flaws and give a totally different perspective of any place on Instagram.

This reality has disappointed Devaiah. He shared an incident where he travelled to Mexico’s Chichén Itzá and it looked nothing like the beautiful pictures he saw on Instagram. He shared a few more examples and said that the sad reality of our life is we now have to remove some famous places from our bucket list as they don’t live up to the expectations in real life.

Devaiah further mentions how he is now scared of getting disappointed by Northern Lights and Ladakh after many people’s posts on them. He concluded the post and said that it is tough to prove natural beauty in a digitally altered world.

We agree with this post to some extent. Yes, social media tends to hype up even the smallest things which usually leads to disappointment. However, nature and its beauty can survive the pressure of this “digitally altered world.” Many places still deserve to be experienced in person and nothing can change that!
