Man Shares How An Indian Bachelor Was Treated At Immigration In Cambodia; Netizens Share Their Experience Too

In the past, people have voiced that Indians, especially if they are bachelors, are not treated in the same way as others. Someone recently made a post about the same on their social media where he spoke of how immigration in Cambodia treated an Indian bachelor. This inevitably turned into a debate. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this particular debate on social media.

Man Shares How Immigration in Cambodia Treated Indian Bachelor

A man recently took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared his experience of travelling in Cambodia. While waiting at immigration in Cambodia, the man said that there was an Indian bachelor in front of him.

He was grilled with questions for around thirty minutes by the authorities. He supplemented the post by highlighting that Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world and despite this, they did not treat Indian passport holders with much trust.

He went on to posit that the reason behind this distrust and the implicit weakness of Indian passports is the fear that Indians might pick up illegal employment and stay back in the country. He also stated that this might be why Indian applications for Schengen Visas are rejected.

Netizens Torn Asunder; Share Their Own Travel Experiences

While many people agreed with the user’s reasoning, others did not. Some went on to highlight that Indian bachelors are discriminated against even within the country. This is because, in many big cities, bachelors are not given apartments for rent.

Some said that his reasoning and generalisation were flawed because they never faced discrimination every time they travelled as bachelors. Others echoed the sentiments of the original post and expressed regret over it.
