Kangra in Himachal Pradesh is one of the most sought-after destinations by tourists. The snowcapped mountains, the rich heritage of the world’s oldest surviving royal dynasty, Katoch dynasty and the revered Baijnath Temple, are some of the reasons people visit Kangra. According to a report by the Hindustan Times, Kangra will soon establish a ‘tourist village’. The reason behind this is to create more employment opportunities for locals and to promote the art and culture of the region. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu revealed in a statement that the tourism village will create permanent employment opportunities for the local youth. Apart from ensuring tourism development, this will also increase the revenue of the state.

Most importantly, government authorities will construct a massive zoo in Bankhandi in the Kangra district at a cost of 300 crore. Also, Kangra will get a golf course of international standards. Also, tourists visiting Kangra in the near future can travel in electric buses, indulge in water sports, take their kids to theme parks and dine at high-end food courts.

Heritage sites and eco-tourism spots are being beautified. Asia’s largest ice skating rink in Shimla is also getting an upgrade, and so is the ice and roller skating rink in Manali. Local youth in Kangra will get employment opportunities in the fields of art, handicrafts, music, culture and other things in the tourism village.
