You know what the experts say – a yawn is a silent scream for coffee. And a good coffee can pretty much make or break your day and that’s why being the coffee lover that I am, I’m here to give you an update on one of my favourite coffee spots in the city. Mumbai may be a chai lover’s haven, but you’re grossly underestimating the amazing coffee spots here. From filter kaapi to tapri wala coffee to a good ol’ cup brewed in front of you, there’s something for everyone. but today I’m going to take about my absolute favourite – McCafé. I know what you’re going to say. Who goes to McDonald’s for a coffee? That’s where you get burgers and fries, but thank me later when you grab your first cuppa from McCafé.
Coffee At McCafé
What does a cup of good coffee need? Great beans, freshness and a barista who knows how to make the perfect cuppa. The coffee at Mcdonald’s McCafé tick marks all 3. McCafé uses premium 100% Arabica beans and they are medium to dark roast. What does that mean? It means that it’s absolutely perfect for the Indian palate. It’s not too strong and it’s not too light. The flavours are just perfect.
Now, if you’re a coffee connoisseur, you’ll know that the beans can only do so much. The real heroes are the baristas. McCafé coffee is handcrafted (customised to your taste) and prepared by expert baristas who train for more than 100 hours. That has to count for something – most likely a great cup of coffee.
Another reason I love McCafé is that it’s so reasonable. ou can get 2 coffees for just Rs 149, which is quite a steal deal considering its great tasting, premium coffee which is just what you need to give that caffeine boost to your day.
PS: For the non-coffee lovers, McCafé offers more than 45 varieties of non-aerated dairy and fruit-based beverages. My personal favourite is the hot chocolate that’s quite yummy.
