Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia hardly needs any introduction. And now, it has unveiled the plans for the National Tennis Centre. This is a huge new sports destination coming up in Qiddiya City, which would firmly place Saudi Arabia on the international tennis map.
National Tennis Centre to Come Up In Qiddiya City
The Qiddiya Investment Company just announced the National Tennis Centre. It will be located in Qiddiya City, and it is being built to the International standards of ATP, WTA, and ITF. With the promise of delivering the best of what the sport has to offer, it is going to serve as a global stage for tennis stars. The 15,000-seat Centre Court would represent the jewel of the largest and most advanced tennis complex in the kingdom. It would be dedicated to grand slams and majors. Shaped by the layered landscapes and lush green facade, this is an architectural marvel which will also serve as a cultural icon.

Besides the public spaces, guests will also get to immerse themselves in engagement zones and premium hospitality suites. Offering an exhilarating and breathtaking atmosphere, these would blend the thrill of the game with the culture of the sport. Not only this, but it will also feature 30 tennis courts. Out of these, 28 will be hard courts and 2 will be clay courts. These have been integrated into the dramatic landscape of Qiddiya City, and it would be layered with the green facade that would complement the surrounding Tuwaiq Mountains.

More About The Location & Facilities
It should be noted that this new development would be located next to the Sir Nick Faldo-designed 18-hole Championship golf course, which is also in Qiddiya City. There will also be training and wellness facilities that will be housed at the National Tennis Centre. Two multipurpose arenas with retractable roofs for climate control will also be there. These would be capable of hosting everything from live events to international tournaments.
It should be noted that the construction is already underway, and there will be an 8000-seat multipurpose arena. Additionally, there will be 5000-seat and 2000-seat show courts, which would bring the total seating capacity to about 33,000.
For those who are wondering, there are several developments coming to Qiddiya City. Recently, Six Flags and Aquarabia opened, and now it is also all set to welcome major supporting and entertainment venues, including Playmaker Studio and the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium, to name some.
So, with Qiddiya City soon being home to some of the biggest venues, make sure to stay tuned to this space for more information about opening and other updates from the region.
