Dubai Fitness Challenge is back tomorrow, and this year marks its 10th edition. The idea is still beautifully simple: 30 minutes of movement a day for 30 days. Running from 31 October to 29 November under the theme “What’s Your 30×30?”, it brings thousands of free classes, workouts and events to the city. The Challenge is an initiative of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

Three Free Fitness Villages

Each village is open to all ages and abilities, with a main stage that hosts daily classes.

Kite Beach

The biggest of the three has an obstacle course, skate park, Pilates, HIIT, MMA, spin and water sports, plus bookable courts for padel, beach volleyball, cricket, basketball and football. It is open Monday to Friday from 3pm to 11pm, and on weekends from 7am to 11pm. Entry is free, but you’ll need to register on site.

Zabeel Park

Find it at Gate 2. Zones for boxing, MMA, wellness, gym workouts and kids’ fitness sit alongside courts for cricket, padel and basketball. Hours are 4pm to 11pm on weekdays and 12pm to 11pm on weekends.

Al Warqa’a Park

This one suits families. It has a 2.8km running and cycling track surrounded by greenery, a ladies-only zone, a kids’ zone and a bike rental hub. It is open daily from 4pm to 11pm.

More Than 30 Community Hubs

If a village is too far, a hub might be on your doorstep. Throughout November, over 30 of them are offering free workouts, group classes and family sessions around Dubai.

Some to look out for

  • Bluewaters: floating fitness sessions with Ain Dubai as the backdrop
  • Jumeirah 2 Beach: kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding at Paddlers Hub UAE
  • Mina Rashid: beginner-friendly sailing with Wind Rises Sailing
  • Al Quoz: immersive workouts using 360-degree projections at HyperFit360 – Pac-Man
  • Topgolf Dubai: guided sessions for golf beginners
  • Hatta Wadi Hub: movement and adventure against the Hajar Mountains
  • Tilal Al Ghaf: more than 90 expert-led sessions

Gate Avenue in DIFC and Dubai Internet City also host sessions, which makes squeezing in your 30 minutes around work a lot easier.
