Ras Al Khaimah is bringing Barrel 23 Festival, billed as the UAE’s first hard techno festival, to Desert Inn Resort and Camp from November 13 to 15, and What’s On reports it will stretch to 38 hours.

The festival begins on the evening of Friday, November 13, and runs into Sunday, November 15. What’s On lists the timing as 6pm on the 13th to 12am on the 15th, while a ticketing page shows a 10pm start on the first night. Check barrel23.com for gate times before you plan the drive. Who Is Playing
Artists from 11 countries are on the bill, with acts coming in from Europe, Brazil, Spain and the UK. Announced names include Axciid, Naomi Baldacchino, Cassandrah, Dostroic, Golpe and Kirüsh, while local artists Jahsus, Orangen Hai, Simon Fee and Souzark will also take the decks. Belgium’s Swart appears on the Resident Advisor listing too.
Expect a heavy sound. The genres on offer include hard groove, hard techno, hypnotic techno and industrial breakcore.
Camping, Food & Tickets
Anyone who wants to stay on site can use the designated self-camping area. Food and drinks are on sale inside the venue, and What’s On says you can also bring your own refreshments, though it is worth confirming the venue’s rules before you pack a cooler. Why Ras Al Khaimah Keeps Pulling Festival Crowds
The emirate has built a calendar of multi-day music events in the desert and on the coast over the past few years. Oblivion, another techno-heavy desert party, has been held at the Dunes Camping and Safari Resort, and Desert Groove has been a regular at The Dunes as well. Barrel 23 adds a harder edge to that mix.
