British Airways Cuts Flights To 7 Middle Eastern Cities Amid Regional Tensions

Travellers flying between the Gulf and London may need to double-check their bookings over the next few months. British Airways has reduced services to several Middle East cities as tensions across the region continue affecting airline operations. And the major impact is on Dubai.

British Airways Is Slashing Several Middle Eastern Flights This Summer

Flights between London and Dubai are dropping from three daily services to just one for part of the summer schedule. The airline says the regular daily setup should return from August 1, while a second daily flight is expected to come back from October 16.

Still, for people travelling during peak summer weeks, the cuts could mean fewer choices and busier flights.

Dubai, Doha And Riyadh Routes Are All Seeing Changes

It’s not only Dubai being affected here.

Flights to Doha, Riyadh and Tel Aviv have also been reduced from two flights a day to one. According to the airline, full schedules are expected to slowly return from August onwards.

But some routes are facing even bigger disruptions. Services to Bahrain and Amman have been suspended completely for the rest of the summer season. Those flights are currently planned to restart on October 25.

For many passengers, especially families travelling during school holidays, this could mean rerouting through other airlines or changing travel dates entirely.

One Saudi Route Is Disappearing Altogether

There’s another update too. The airline confirmed it will permanently stop flights to Jeddah from April 24 after what it called a broader operational review.

That said, British Airways says the current schedule adjustments are mainly about giving customers clearer information while the region remains unstable.

The airline also said it has been contacting affected travellers directly and offering other travel options where possible.

Airlines Are Still Dealing With Uncertainty Across The Region

Airlines across the world have been adjusting routes and schedules linked to the Middle East over the past several months. Some carriers have rerouted aircraft, reduced frequencies or paused flights altogether depending on the situation on the ground.

British Airways says it has already helped thousands of stranded customers get home since the disruptions started. It also mentioned operating relief flights and adding extra seats on certain long-haul routes where it could.

Still, travellers flying this summer may want to keep an eye on schedule updates. Things are changing quite fast, and airlines are clearly trying to stay flexible.
