Recently, this Bong beauty, Mouni Roy, met with our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for an exciting Dussehra special episode of the Sunday Brunch. It was a Dussehra special Sunday Brunch, so it was supposed to revolve around Bengali food and the bong beauty herself; that is exactly what happened. We also wanted to know how she started her career and about her first paycheck. Mouni was paid five and a half thousand rupees for a written piece she had submitted to a newspaper. Mouni Roy’s First Paycheck Was For
We wanted to know about her first paycheck ever! We asked her if her first paycheck was from Balaji Telefilms or if was it from any other work done like internships before TV serials and all. She initially told us that it was from Balaji Telefilms but then quickly she changed her answer. Mouni Roy went on to tell us, “No not really. Maine ek piece likha tha kahi par.” (I wrote a piece somewhere).
Mouni Roy continued “I don’t even remember the newspaper. Uske liye mujhe I think five and a half thousand rupees mile the, Delhi mein bohot saalo pehle.” (I was paid five and a half thousand rupees in Delhi which was years ago). At the end of her sentence, she gave us a huge smile which clearly tells us that she was proud of that achievement. Damn Mouni, that is quite good for a first paycheck. She Was A Background Dancer in This Bollywood Film
Were you aware of the fact that Mouni Roy is also a great dancer? She was even a background dancer in the song ‘Nahi Hona Nahi Hona’ in Abhishek Bachchan’s Run. We wanted to clarify this information we had gathered from the internet and turns out she did actually do it. All thanks to her being in the choreography society of her school.
The choreographer who came to her school to help out students with a dance routine had asked Mouni Roy and her two other friends if they were willing to participate in a song as background dancers and the rest is history. She told us that back in the day the amount paid for the shoot was on the heftier side; she shot for a day and came back. Life truly plays out in ways no one has ever imagined! That is why you should never really miss out on great chances.
She even went on to say that about a year back she met Abhishek Bachchan during a film screening and he still remembered Mouni Roy from ‘Nahi Hona Nahi Hona’. This made both Kamiya and Mouni Roy laugh out loud. Bachchan was casually flexing his memory while Mouni was casually flexing on the fact that he remembered her.
