Commuting in Mumbai gets tough at times with infinite people walking and travelling around to reach their destinations. Well, there is something that will ease this issue to some extent. Recently, Western Railways started the longest skywalk in the city and it will help the commuters to cover a walking distance easily. The skywalk opened last week on 1 July 2022. So far, this is Mumbai’s longest skywalk, measuring 314m in length and 4.4m in width.

Mumbai Gets Its Longest Skywalk

The Western Railways announced the great news on their official Twitter handle on the first day of the month. This skywalk is connecting Bandra Terminus and Khar station. The commuters can walk through this 314 m skywalk conveniently and easily reach towards their destination.

It Is Connecting With All The FOBs

The longest skywalk in the city made the traveling journey much easier. Now the passengers can directly get down at the Khar station and walk to the Bandra terminus. The skywalk will connect with the foot over bridges and it will make travelling easier and safer for the passengers. The scenario was different before. Passengers travelling by suburban trains had to get down at Khar or Bandra station and then walk to the Bandra Terminus.

Mumbai Gets Its Longest Skywalk

The entire construction took an estimation of about ₹14 crore as reported by the Free Press Journal. The building process also used almost 510 MT structural steel, 20 MT Reinforcement steel, and 240 cum of concrete. Sumit Thakur is the Chief Public Relations Officer of the Western Railway and he shared the information.
