Mith Chowky is an important traffic junction in the city as it caters to heavy traffic from Madh Island, Kandivali, Borivali, Andheri, and Versova. Due to the traffic coming from all four sides, Mith Chowky becomes a choke point. On average, motorists spend about 20 minutes standing in the congestion.

As per reports, this T-shaped flyover at Mith Chowky will be 800 metres long. Due to its limited width, the flyover will cater to one-way traffic. It will pass beneath the Metro 2A lines, between Malad and Dahanakurwadi stations. It is being built at an estimated cost of ₹65 crore and according to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, will be open for public use by 2024-end.

While talking to The Indian Express, an official said, “This bridge will cater to lightweight vehicles only and will be a solution to the congestion woes in the area. Also, since we have Metro lines passing over, there is a restriction on height, therefore, heavy vehicles will not be allowed on the bridge and only the road below will cater to heavy vehicles and buses.”

This flyover can surely help ease the traffic congestion in the area and also save time for the commuters!
