A blood donation camp will take place in Mumbai on December 13 which will give donors either 1 kg of chicken or 1kg of paneer, depending on their food habits. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) corporator Samadhan Sarvankar has organised the camp in Mahim-Worli Bidhan Sabha area. The timings for the same are from 10 AM to 2 PM. The authority aims to collect 1000 units of blood. Also, the blood donors need to register themselves for the donation prior to December 11 at the Shiv Sena Shakha 194, in proximity to Saamana Press. Reportedly, around 300 donors have already registered. The donors need to be between the ages of 18 and 50. A Maharashtra couple had also donated 50 beds on their wedding day, skipping celebrations.
Donate Blood And Take Home 1 Kg Of Chicken Or Paneer
Samadhan Sarvankar of Shiv Sena leader Sada Sarvankar has organised a blood donation camp that will take place on December 13. The donors, in return, can take home 1 kg of chicken or 1 kg of paneer. The camp will be organised at the Rajabhau Salvi Ground in New Prabhadevi which comes under the Mahim-Worli Bidhan Sabha area. The authority is making the arrangements by teaming up with the Lower Parel-based KEM hospital. The timings of the event will be from 10 AM to 2 PM. Also, Chef Vikas Khanna had donated 100,000 kg of food supplies to Mumbai’s legendary dabbawalas.

Chicken And Paneer Are Good Sources Of Protein
According to a News18 report, the corporator has stated, “The idea of distributing chicken and paneer struck me when I read on the World Health Organisation’s website that poultry and dairy products are a good source of protein and vitamins, besides being immunity boosters. Since it’s a pandemic era. So I decided to give all blood donors chicken or paneer as per whether they are vegetarian.” Blood donors need to pre-register themselves for the event at the Shiv Sena Shakha 194, in proximity to Saamana Press, before December 11. The donors must be between the ages of 18 and 50.

A month ago, Maharashtra CM had also called upon the city people to voluntarily donate blood due to reduced blood supply.
