Mumbaikars Can Now Live Track Local Trains On Central Line

Are you a frequent traveller on Bombay’s local trains? For the benefit of the passengers, technology will be given to help them track the LIVE location of the local trains. Mumbaikars will be able to track the local starting today, July 13. Passengers can do the same through the Yatri App which will allow them to see the location of the local trains in real-time. Presently, this facility will be available only for the users of the Central Line.

Real-Time Tracking Of Local Trains

Initially, the LIVE tracking will be available only on the Belapur-Kharkopar Route. The Central Line is functioning presently as the GPS tagging has been done on the trains of eastern areas only. The app will then LIVE location of the train to the mobile devices. The location will be updated every 15 seconds and users too can refresh the app to find the updated information. An official of the Central Railway told a media website that it is looking forward to raising the bar of digital services. Apart from these, users can also register their suggestions or new changes on the app.

Local Trains & Ease Of Travelling

The Yatri app has been developed by CDP India and comes with better features to make travel easy for local train passengers. At present, passengers use the M-indicator to check timetables and details regarding the running of local trains. Passengers will be able to download the Yatri App from the Android or Apple Play store. With the frequent use of the Yatri App, passengers on local trains will be able to travel without any trouble, thus saving a lot of time too.

Additionally. By next month, two more AC trains will be added to the fleet of Central Railway and Western Railways trains. This comes after passengers showed high demand for availing AC local trains.
