When the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link was inaugurated, everyone planned long drives on it to enjoy driving on India’s longest sea bridge. What, we bet, you didn’t imagine was running on this sea bridge and experiencing it on a whole new level! Well, all thanks to the MTHL marathon, it is now a possibility. There is a marathon being held at the sea link on February 18 in various categories. Scroll on to know all the details about it.

Everything You Need To Know About This First-Of-Its-Kind Marathon

Larsen & Toubro, in association with Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and Times of India, is hosting The L&T Sea Bridge Marathon 2024. The marathon at MTHL will take place on February 18 with more than 5,000 participants. Around 85% of these participants are from Mumbai. This is a first-of-its-kind marathon that will see the sea link turning into a racing track.

There will be four race categories at this event. The signature 42-kilometre marathon will begin at 5 AM. This will be followed by the half marathon at 6 AM and a 10-kilometre run at 6:30 AM. Lastly, there will also be a 5-kilometre run that will start at 6:45 AM. However, it is to be noted that the registration for the races is now closed. You can, however, take part in the walking event that will be taking place at the venue on Sunday.

MTHL Marathon To Showcase Mumbai’s Progress & Spirit

MTHL, also known as Atal Setu, is India’s longest sea bridge. This achievement is a big infrastructural boost for Mumbai and this marathon is dedicated to celebrating the city’s progress and people’s spirit. As per MMRDA, this inaugural edition of the MTHL marathon is said to be a “celebration that underscores community spirit and appreciates Mumbai’s achievements.”

According to the organisers, the event “symbolises Mumbai’s resilience and dedication to overcoming the challenges of urbanisation.” The MTHL marathon will, thus, emphasise the transformative impact of infrastructure on lifestyle and economic growth.
