The whole UAE is set to celebrate the 51st National day and the following long weekend. And when it’s celebrations, the region would obviously see some changes in routes. All 7 Emirates will be submerged in the humongous crowd coming to the streets to celebrate the 51st National Day. And the motorists and vehicle owners who commute regularly through the streets of Emirates will face little inconvenience. So while you wish to avoid traffic, here are a few proven ways to help you out.

Follow The Signs To Alternative Routes

The celebrations for the 51st National day will continue between the 1st to 4th of December 2022. So expect heavy traffic and crowd on the streets of UAE. Police have made arrangements to guide vehicle owners to take alternative routes to save themselves from being stuck on the road amid the celebrations.

Ban On Trucks & Buses During 51st National Day

The 51st Union Day and Commemoration Day events will take place on Abu Dhabi Island in all the festive cheer. According to the Abu Dhabi Police, trucks, heavy vehicles, and buses transporting workers will not be allowed to enter. This initiative will be taken in light to avoid congestion on the roads that might interrupt the celebrations. The area affected by this ban is Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, Mussafah Bridge and Al Maqtaa Bridge.

Switch To Metro’s To Avoid Getting Stuck In UAE Traffic

 

Got to catch a flight or attend a meeting during these 4 days in the Emirates? Getting in a taxi or private car won’t be of any help due to the processions on road. The best and speedy way to reach your destination by beating traffic will be to take the metro. The RTA has announced updated metro operating hours from December 1 through December 3. The RTA announced the operational time would be from 5 am until 1 am the following day.

So if you have to commute during this long weekend, we suggest you take a metro down to your destination.
