Recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the revamped National Police Memorial houses the Central Sculpture, the Wall of Valour and the National Police Museum. Central Sculpture Pays Tribute To The Sacrifices Of Police Force
The 30-feet tall Central Sculpture at NPM signifies the strength, dedication, and persistence of the police force. The vertical monolith made of a single block of black granite weighs 238 tonnes. Its weight and colour is a tribute to the supreme sacrifices made by the policemen for our safety. The strong pillar has a shape of a rifle and helmet showcasing all the hard work our policemen put in to keep us safe.

This includes police officials from all categories- from border security to the traffic police. The base of the sculpture has a 60 feet long flowing river symbolising the continuous selfless service made by policemen to hold together the fabric of society. Post sunset, it’s illuminated in vibrant lights.

National Police Memorial Has Weekend Parades
National Police Memorial has absolutely no entry fee. It’s free of charge. Every weekend it houses a parade, that you definitely shouldn’t miss. Pay your respects to the martyred at the Wall of Valour. It has names of over 38,000 jawans who lost their lives. The names inscribed on the structure is a silent acknowledgement of their contributions, bravery and selfless service in the line of duty since India’s Independence.

National Police Museum Takes You Down History Of India’s Police Force
There’s also the National Police Museum on the NPM premises. This museum is an education on the fascinating story of the history and evolution of the police force in India. It showcases the weaponry, uniforms, medals and flags in all their glory of police personnel from every department of the Indian Police agencies. Landmark stories of police martyrdom that have been narrated through digital films, projection mapping and photographs will leave you with goosebumps and tears.
