Recently, Udaipur witnessed the inauguration of its second ropeway. Overlooking the beautiful Fateh Sagar Lake, the Neemach Mata Ropeway is all set to make travelling to the Neemach Mata Temple easier and more picturesque! It was inaugurated on January 22, the same auspicious day as the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this new ropeway in Udaipur.

According to an article which was recently published by The Times Of India or TOI, the ropeway was inaugurated by Damodar Ropeways and Infra Limited or DRIL. The project is built with an investment outlay of ₹20 crore and has an operation and maintenance lease for 25 years.

It covers a total of 429.19 metres. The ropeway will provide an alternative to the exhausting hike up to the mountain which will make the Neemach Mata temple more accessible. Instead of the 45-minute hike, devotees will be able to cover the distance in just three minutes!

There will be 12 cabins with automatic doors that will be able to handle 100 passengers per hour. It will operate from 7 AM to 8 PM every day in January and the round-trip tickets will cost only ₹185.

India To Work On 200 Ropeways To Transform Mobility

In addition to this new ropeway in Udaipur, the country is all set to work on around 200 ropeways which will enhance mobility in different parts of the country. These ropeways are coming up at the cost of around ₹1.25 lakh crore over the next five years.

This will transform mobility in many urban areas and will also boost tourism in the country.
