Northeast Gets Tourism Boost As Three New Flights To These Destinations Are Launched

The Northeast of India is taking its tourism game up. Many tourists have recently visited the northeast, considering the ease of travel, the scenic beauty, and the warmest people. The government has launched three new flights to specific destinations in northeast India. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia launched three flights to Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Mizoram. Read on to know the routes for these Northeast flights —

Northeast Tourism To Boost With Air Connectivity

With air connectivity strengthened in the mentioned states, Scindia said there had been a special focus on air connectivity in the Northeastern region. A few flights will operate under the Centre’s regional connectivity scheme. The flights under this scheme include the Imphal-Aizwal-Imphal, Liliabari-Ziro-Lilabari and Shillong-Lilabari-Shillong routes. The Imphal-Aizwal-Imphal flight will fly at least five times per week, Liliabari-Ziro-Lilabari will fly twice a week and the Shillong-Lilabari-Shillong flight will operate four times a week.

Benefits Of Air Connectivity

As air connectivity is being upgraded in the region, it will also enable people living in Northeast India to travel easily. It will also enable the residents to contribute to the growth in accessibility of the northeast region. The government believes connectivity will boost trade in the area too. As per reports, eight airports have been developed in the region recently. Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Mizoram are scenic places that organise many festivals and tourism activities. Apart from the mainlanders, the Northeast residents can also travel frequently through these new routes. These five states nestle prominent tourist destinations in India like Kaziranga, Ziro, Loktak lake, Tawang, Shillong, and the remaining unexplored scenic and rural spots.
