Valentine’s Day is a unique occasion that offers the chance to make new memories. This is confirmed by OYO’s reports as well. Travelling on this day can heighten the excitement of the occasion. The day is now more than just a time for exchanging gifts as was once the custom; instead, it is a chance to spend time with loved ones, inspiring many to go on quick outings with their friends and families to nearby locations.

The most popular location this year, according to OYO’s data on booking trends, was Vrindavan, which saw a 231% YoY increase in bookings. The huge consumer demand for Vrindavan on Valentine’s Day suggests that Indians today want to celebrate Valentine’s Day as a day to spend quality time with family and friends, surpassing popular vacation spots like Goa and Manali. Since Valentine’s Day occurs on a Tuesday this year, booking patterns show that consumers are eager to take a vacation that combines the weekend with Valentine’s Day.

Even though Valentine’s Day fell on a weekday, the business saw a roughly 35% boost in reservations.  Goa recorded the biggest proportion of reservations on Republic Day, January 26, 2023, with almost 75%.

OYO Has Observed A Rise In Vrindavan Bookings For Valentine’s Week

According to data research by a leading provider of hospitality technology, Vrindavan became the most booked destination and recorded the highest number of reservations this Valentine’s Day compared to last year, with an approximate 231% rise in bookings. Bangalore (51%), Hyderabad (47%), Pune (45%), Kolkata (38%), Chennai (35%), and Mumbai (19%) are the places that come next.

This Valentine’s Day, the majority of travellers are choosing hill stations over coastal resorts, an astounding 147% rise from the previous year. The average length of stay has also increased from 2 to 4 days between 2022 and 2023, reflecting the tendency of lengthier vacations over staycations that emerged in the immediate aftermath of the epidemic.

The OYO representative shared that the booking pattern aptly demonstrates that people in smaller places are just as aspirational when it comes to spending on experiences as their counterparts in urban areas. With programmes like Super OYO, Check-in Ratings, and Book Now Pay Later, they are providing everyone with a relaxing stay, a speedy getaway, and the ability to make informed judgements.
