The Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Department of Dubai Municipality bagged the Autism-Friendly Certificate (AFC) for providing a secure and welcoming environment for individuals with autism.

The Autism-Friendly Program’s organising committee scheduled a number of seminars and site visits in order to evaluate the facilities. The programme was launched in September this year as a first-of-its-kind initiative in the region to encourage greater accessibility standards for people with autism. The award honours the municipality’s efforts in accordance with the Dubai government’s objective. It converts the emirate into a city that welcomes individuals with determination.
