Now You Might Need Tickets For Entry Into Several Dubai Public Parks; Nol Cards No Longer Accepted

There are several public parks in Dubai that are thronged by people in large numbers. However, recently the Khaleej Times reported that several of them are no longer accepting nol cards for entry. Yes, what this means is that people will now have to pay either by cash or credit card for the entry. Take a look!

Yes, in its report it was revealed that many residents who had dropped by these parks revealed that there was a change in the entry system. Yes, nol card payment systems have been removed from some of the parks! This move is, however, hardly surprising, as the Dubai Municipality signed a partnership with Du in October of 2023.

The New System Requires People To Purchase Tickets

As it happens, a customer service agent from Dubai Municipality also confirmed this and it was mentioned in the same report. For those who aren’t aware, this partnership aims to introduce innovative solutions for ticketless entry, improved worker satisfaction, tech skills, seamless identity management, and sustainability in public parks. As such, there is one exception to the new system. The ticketing at Dubai’s Quranic Park is still operational under the nol card system.

At this point, it is worth mentioning that the ticket cost AED5. So basically, now people who like to visit parks will have to buy tickets, which is available either by payment through cash or card. These are then scanned at the machines placed at the entrance of the park where the nol card machines are placed. As such, some parks like Safa Park also offer visitors and option of smart payments, such as Google Pay, or even Apple Pay.

However, it’s worth mentioning that this smart system is still in the process of being rolled out, as there are several parks that do not have it presently. Not to mention, the price of tickets remains the same at each park!

So, the next time you visit a public park in Dubai, you might have to buy tickets via cash or card under the new system.
