Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has directed officials to renovate the Chandrabhaga and Talsari beaches in the state with world-class amenities like water sports, wooden track, cycle track, amphitheatres, art and crafts plaza and more. The state’s most popular beach, the Puri beach has already received the prestigious ‘Blue Flag’ certification’ from the Copenhagen-based Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). The Puri beach was the first beach in Odisha to get this tag. Clean, eco-friendly beaches with tourist-friendly amenities can receive the tag. Now, Odisha is planning to revamp other beaches too, like the Chandrabhaga beach and Talsari beach. Meanwhile, at Odisha’s Chandipur beach, the sea disappears before the eyes.

Tourist-Friendly Facilities To Come Up At The Beaches
Two beaches in Odisha, the Chandrabhaga beach and the Talsari beach will undergo renovations as per the directions of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Around one-kilometre stretch at Chandrabhaga in the Puri-Konark shoreline will get facilities like pavement, cycle track, wooden track, recreation, water sports, podium to view the sunrise, activity area for kids and more, along with advanced facilities like solar lighting and waste management system. At Balasore district’s Talsari beach, around 2.4-kilometre stretch will undergo development with new hotels, restaurants, amphitheatres, kiosk, pavilion, art and crafts plaza and more. Also, Odisha Tourism has recently introduced three picturesque road trip circuits from Kolkata. The three circuits are- Deep into the Mangroves, The Trail of Cascades-Keonjhar and Tiger trails and Royalty.

The New Amenities Can Attract More Tourists
The government is optimistic regarding these new amenities and hopes that they will attract more tourists. As per sources, the state aims to complete the beach projects by October 2021. The government is also considering prospects to renovate other beaches in the Puri and Ganjam districts. The Odisha government had also planned to start day-cruise services at five locations of the state, namely Chilika lake, Bhitarkanika mangroves, Hirakud Reservoir, River Mahanadi and Satkosia gorge.
