We’ve already told you about some mind-boggling road trips that you can take within India. Now, three more spectacular road trip circuits, flanked by lush green national parks, pristine coasts and effervescent waterfalls, are coming up between Kolkata and Odisha. Odisha Tourism has introduced three tourism circuits, that can be explored from Kolkata by road. The three circuits are- Deep into the Mangroves, The Trail of Cascades-Keonjhar and Tiger trails and Royalty. Sounds interesting? Read on to know all the details.

Road Trips Through Chandipur Beach, Bhimkund Waterfalls, Similipal Tiger Reserve And More

To promote road tourism in the state, Odisha Tourism has announced three picturesque road trip circuits from Kolkata. The circuits were announced in a recently organised virtual roadshow. The first circuit, Deep into the Mangroves, will run from Kolkata to Bhitarkanika. Breathtaking destinations like the Chandipur Beach, Bichitrapur Mangrove Sanctuary, Bhitarkanika National Park, Talasari Beach and Aul Palace will fall on this route. The second circuit, The Trail of Cascades-Keonjhar from Kolkata to Keonjhar will cover Bhimkund Waterfalls, Gundichaghai Waterfalls, Sanaghagara Waterfalls, Sitabinji Caves’ fresco paintings, a Terracotta craft village and more. The third route, Tiger trails and Royalty, from Kolkata to Similipal will cover Similipal Tiger Reserve, Sitakund Waterfall, Barehipani and the Nawana Valley, Belgadia Palace and more. The Odisha government had also planned to start day-cruise services at five locations of the state.

Odisha Gets Nearly 14 Percent Of Tourists From West Bengal

According to a TOI report, Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, Minister of Tourism, Government of Odisha has said that the state is making efforts to revive tourism, and the road trips will be an opportunity to reach out to the West Bengal tour operators as Odisha gets nearly 14 percent of its tourists from West Bengal. Panigrahi has also spoken about the similarity in the culture and cuisines of both the states. Each year, Odisha’s Puri gets a large number of visitors from Kolkata. Apart from Kolkata, there is also a road circuit to Odisha from Vishakhapatnam. The route runs from Vishakhapatnam to Chilika via Gopalpur, covering places like Jirang, Tampara Lake, Chilika Nature Camps, Gandahati Waterfall, Satapada and more.
