Palash Sen: There Is More To The Entertainment Industry Than Bollywood

On this episode of Tere Gully Mein, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, interviewed the phenomenal Palash Sen in Delhi. A doctor and a singer, Palash, was brought up in Delhi and it was an honour to explore the beautiful lanes of Connaught Place with him. We explored the Janta Mantar before heading out to gorge on authentic South Indian cuisine in the heart of Delhi. While chatting, he highlighted how the entertainment industry is more than the world of Bollywood.

Palash Sen Said That The Entertainment Industry Is Not Just Bollywood!

Kamiya met with Palash at the iconic Janta Mantar for this Tere Gully Mein episode. The singer sang “Kabhi aana tu meri gali,” a line from his song ‘Aana Meri Gully’, just as Kamiya walked up to him. This perfectly set up the mood for this fun episode!

Kamiya praised Palash for his exceptional voice and how it made her fly out to Delhi from Mumbai! Upon hearing this, our guest was extremely thankful to Kamiya. During the conversation, he also spoke about how Indians’ perception of entertainment is limited to Bollywood.

Palash revealed, “It’s very difficult, in this country, for people to look at any other kind of entertainment but Bollywood. Everybody should discover the fact that there is more to entertainment in this country.” We agree with you on this, Palash.

He was eager to explore Delhi with Kamiya. She, a Mumbaikar, couldn’t stop commenting on how cold Delhi was, as she isn’t used to such chilly temperatures! In response, Palash contradicted the usual notion of Delhi folks being hot-headed. He mentioned that Delhiites are warmer in their hearts than their heads because “Dilli dil walo ki hai.” This made Kamiya laugh out loud!

We could sense his love for Delhi as he fondly talked about this city. He told Kamiya that Delhi has become a lot cooler and sometimes it is cooler than the hill stations of northern India. Before focussing on Jantar Mantar, he also shared his views about how Delhi has been an influential city in our country for ages.
