When it comes to luxurious train journeys and cutting travel time, the Vande Bharat Express trains are slowly becoming passengers’ first choice. And guess what? Indian Railways has provided a significant relief by announcing that tickets can now be booked on eight Vande Bharat Express trains up to 15 minutes before the train reaches their respective stations. Last-Minute Vande Bharat Express Train Bookings
To enhance passenger experience and provide last-minute travel options, the Southern Railway zone announced a new change in ticket bookings. As per The Indian Express, the Southern Railway zone released an official statement and said that, for eight Vande Bharat Express trains, reservations will be available just 15 minutes before departure.
Previously, once the train left its starting point, passengers could no longer book tickets from any station. But now, travellers can check for empty seats and reserve them, making it perfect for their last-minute travel needs.

Indian Railways To Launch New Trains
Currently, 144 Vande Bharat Express trains are operating across the country. Now, the Indian Railways is planning to launch new trains from Pune that will run from Pune to destinations like Vadodara, Secunderabad, Belagavi, and Shegaon. Moreover, the Railways are also planning to introduce a new Vande Bharat train along the Bengaluru-Shivamogga route. This train will benefit commuters from Bengaluru, Tumakuru, Hassan, and Mangaluru. The launch date of these new trains is yet to be released, but they will surely make travel smoother and quicker for the passengers.
In the Lok Sabha meeting, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared that these luxurious trains are high in demand and are running with full seat occupancy. The Indian Express has mentioned that occupancy of these trains in 2024-2025 was 102.01% which by June increased to 105.03%.
