5 Places In Himachal You Should Avoid During Monsoons

Monsoons seem to be pleasant and enjoyable for some people whereas others wish to stay within the windows. This season has a love-hate relationship with people, especially travellers. Many tourists plan their trips during these months to witness the lush green beauty of nature. But not every place is safe to travel to during the rainy season. If you are planning to take a trip to the Himachal during the monsoons, make sure to avoid these destinations. The rain and downpour can cause many problems on your holiday.

1. Spiti Valley

If you are very much eager to take a trip to Spiti Valley, we would recommend you to visit as soon as possible within early July so that you can avoid the monsoons. It doesn’t really matter if it’s drizzling rain because of being a cold desert, rain can cause so many problems while travelling. The rainfall and the landslides are never good experiences here.

2. Manali

Monsoons enter Manali in full swing by the end of July. It is always a good idea to avoid hills and mountains in this season. 3. Lahaul

Lahaul does not experience intense rainfall that often so the weather conditions are not that bad here during monsoons. But the areas and roads to reach Lahaul are quite risky in this season. With more intensified rainfall, the dangerous risks on the roads and passes increase too.

4. Rohtang Pass

To experience the best of Rohtang Pass, summer and the pre-monsoon months are the most appropriate. The downpour makes the roads and mountain pass dangerous and travelling to the mountains during monsoons is always risky. Rainfall leads to accidents often on mountain roads, hence you should not travel to this place in the rainy season.
