Story time! I placed a food delivery order a few months ago, only to find a missing item. My complaints went to deaf ears as the app’s customer care bot left me frustrated with no refund. It took a post on X (formerly Twitter) for the matter to be resolved. To avoid such inconveniences, a Redditor from Bengaluru shared a hack that promises a “premium experience with no extra cost.”
This Hack For Zomato & Swiggy Users Can Change The Way You Order Food
A Reddit post by a Bengaluru user in a local subreddit has a helpful hack for all Zomato and Swiggy users. This hack could seem like a viable solution for all those left high and dry by food delivery apps. Redditor u/steve7evans suggests choosing cash on delivery (COD) when placing an order on platforms like Zomato and Swiggy. As per the Bengalurean, the platform will prioritise your order above gold customers.
Moreover, as per the Bengalurean’s personal experience, if a person refuses to pay for their order due to delay, they will be immediately connected to a human customer agent instead of a bot. Moreover, if your order has missing or wrong items, you can simply refuse to pay.
The Redditor stresses that this hack ensures the human experience remains the same. Once the order is received the customer can pay via UPI app wallet or a card saved on the app.
Post Sparks A Conversation On Reddit
Many a time, food delivery app users are denied refunds or communication with a customer support agent despite having valid reasons to do so. They may face issues like spillage, incorrect orders, missing items or significant delays in delivery. As per u/steve7evans, cash on delivery is a useful hack to mitigate such issues. However, the Redditor ends his post by informing people not to misuse this hack by denying payments of legitimate orders.
This post sparked a conversation among Reddit users, many of whom shared their personal experiences with food delivery services. While some agreed with the Redditor and noticed faster deliveries while opting for COD, others felt the situation was subjective.
