Punjab Restaurant Has 1100+ Dosas In Paneer & Maggi Flavours; Netizens Say, “South India Will Never Forgive You”

I’m South Indian. And do you know what’s my biggest pet peeve? Calling dosa, “dough-sa” (pronunciation: d as in dog). For the nth time, it is “dosa” ( pronunciation: d as in the). Another pet peeve to top the list is stuffing dosas with bizarre fillings like cheese, schezwan, chocolate and whatnot! How’d you like your chole sinking in cheddar cheese and your vada pavs stuffed with chocolate? Hurts, right? Hell, it does! Guess what? A viral video of a Punjab restaurant serving over 1100 dosas in paneer and Maggi flavours has got my blood boiling. It’s time to dial 112 to report a food crime in Punjab.

Punjab Restaurant Riles The Internet With Odd Flavoured Dosas

Recently, an X user @ByRakeshSimha reposted a viral TikTok video of what calls itself “Punjab’s first dosa factory.” In the video, a row of servers stand proudly holding plates of what looks like dosas in the oddest shapes and forms. Think cone-shaped dosa where cheese flows out like lava or a star-shaped dosa with red gravy smeared all over it!

The restaurant boasts over 1100 varieties of dosa in savoury, sweet, Italian and North Indian flavour profiles. And that’s not all! Some dosas cooked over tawas are topped with pasta; others have cheese rained upon them. On the wall, there’s a customary poster of Rajinikanth, which I feel sorry for. Imagine having to sit tight on the wall with a signature smile, only to see customers gorging on white sauce pasta dosas, Maggi dosas and paneer makhani matka dosa. Perhaps, even wallpaper Rajini Sir is secretly mouthing, “Yenna Rascala Mind It!”

Netizens Feel Nauseous & Call It The Ultimate Food Crime

A person in the video proudly says that the restaurant doesn’t compromise on its quality and sauces. We wonder, what about the authenticity? Looks like Netizens echoed my feelings! @ByRakeshSimha supports the video (originally posted by Amritsar Walking Tours) with a caption that says, “South Indian Will Never Forgive Punjab.” Political analyst Abhijit Iyer Mitra in jest demanded the death penalty for the grotesque food crime.  Others joked about feeling nauseous and getting high blood pressure after watching this viral food video.

If you ask us, we’d prefer the Punjab restaurant rename their dishes. Because those ain’t dosas! South Indians, what’s your opinion about it?
