If you’ve been following the news or know people who live in Bengaluru, you know that it has been experiencing thunderstorms for the past couple of days. Rain and hailstorms continue to lash the Silicon Valley of India. Consequently, even flights were affected by such severe thunderstorms. Many flights heading to the Kempegowda International Airport or KIA in Bengaluru experienced extreme turbulence and some were even diverted to the Chennai Airport.

8 Flights Heading To B’luru Diverted To The Chennai Airport

The inclement weather in Bengaluru has severely hampered flight operations to and from Bengaluru. If reports are to go by, as many as eight flights were diverted from Bengaluru to Chennai. Many passengers were experiencing flight delays.

In addition to flight delays, some also experienced severe turbulence. A passenger flying from Mumbai to Bengaluru on IndiGo flight 6E-5032 shared her experience. She said that all seemed okay till she boarded the plane at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport or CSMIA.

The crew members even went through the safety procedures. However, the plane did not take off for a good half an hour. Before they were about to land in Bengaluru, they experienced such extreme turbulence that even seated passengers fell onto one another.

Bengaluru Thunderstorms Wreak Havoc For Many Flyers

The flyer further said that everyone, including the crew members, was shaken by the experience. The plane landed quite far and even when everyone was picking up their baggage, the ambience seemed quite solemn.

Many people took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared pictures and videos of rain pouring over the city. It is predicted that in the coming few days, temperatures will drop as well. Prior to this, the weather Bengaluru was experiencing was quite hot. This rain is therefore welcome to many residents of the city who sought respite from the searing heat.
