Rajasthan To Launch Border Tourism At The Edge Of The Desert To Attract More Travellers

If you ever wanted to visit the secluded but beautiful border areas in Rajasthan, your dream might just come true. The Tanot Mata temple, Kishangarh fort, Longewala war memorial, and scenic villages in Rajasthan are major tourist attractions. But lack of infrastructure didn’t allow tourists to explore these areas. However, a proposal by the Rajasthan tourism department has finally been approved by the Centre to develop Shri Tanot Complex in Jaisalmer as a tourist attraction. The proposal is approved in order to promote border tourism in Rajasthan.

Centre Sanctioned Rs 17.67 Crore For Infrastructure Development In Rajasthan

The approval of the proposal is a great move to further boost tourism in Rajasthan. The secluded desert areas near the borders are filled with numerous tales of war heroics and cultural heritage to attract tourists. The Tanot Mata temple, Kishangarh fort, and Longewala war memorial are some of the most treasured possessions of Rajasthan. But poor infrastructure always came in the way of tourists enjoying their true glory. The border tourism initiative taken by the Centre will now provide more convenient and safe access to these locations. To ensure the same, the Centre has also sanctioned Rs 17.67 crore for infrastructure development and tourism-related activities in the Jaisalmer region. Once border tourism is launched, tourists visiting the border will be able to witness numerous memories of war victories.

Witness The India-Pakistan Border In The Background Of Tanot Mata Tourist Complex

The border tourism initiative is taken by Rajasthan Tourism along with the Border Security Force (BSF) and central agencies. The initiative will help visitors understand the life of the people living in the border areas. The security forces in these areas lead a difficult life and the initiative will allow tourists to have a glimpse of their lives. The initiative will also benefit the locals living in these far-off villages.
“The border and associated history hold irresistible charm for tourists. Development of the Tanot Mata tourist complex by BSF will ensure safe and comfortable visits while showcasing the difficult life of border men. In addition, the sight of the India-Pakistan border in the background of rich historic grandeur will give tourists a memory to cherish for a lifetime.” revealed Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of Tourism.
