A deadly fire recently torched a gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat. Unfortunately, the tragic fire ended up claiming the lives of a total of 28 people. Seven of the 28 people were minors. Initially, the cause of the fire was speculated to be a short circuit. However, CCTV footage of the fire has surfaced which throws light on the cause of the fire. Rajkot Gaming Zone Fire: What Was The Cause Of The Blaze?

According to an article which was recently published by The Indian Express or IE, the fire started at the TRP Gaming Zone and amusement park late Saturday afternoon. Of the 28 people killed in the fire, the remains of one person are yet to be found.

As per an official cited in the IE article, authorities speculate that the fire started owing to the welding work that was going on at the zone. Sparks from the welding machine landed on flammable materials that were kept close to the welding site.

Plastic mattresses and foam sheets as well as thermocol were kept there. Furthermore, officials also told IE that petrol and diesel for go-karts might also have been stored there. If reports are to go by, the fire spread very quickly and the victims did not get a chance to escape.
