The much-awaited Ayodhya Airport is finally on the verge of completion. The ₹242 crores worth-project will be complete in June 2023. But, this isn’t your normal airport. The city of Ayodhya is a spiritual place as it is home to Lord Ram, the widely worshipped God in the Hindu religion. Therefore, the airport will have a certain resemblance to the place. Here is what the Ayodhya Airport will look like once completed.

This new airport has a total area of six thousand square metres. Also, it has the capacity to manage nearly three hundred passengers during peak hours. The estimated work completed is around fifty-two per cent. This includes the construction of the terminal building and the airside facilities. The annual capacity of this airport is nearly six lakh passengers.

The Inspiration Behind The Design

Ayodhya is known for its association with Lord Ram. Thus, the airport designs will have certain elements of the famous Ram Mandir. The glass facade will have a design similar to the Ayodhya Palace representing the grandeur. Moreover, the airport will have a sense of a spiritual environment. On the columns, there will be a pictorial display of Ramayana incidents. In addition, shikharas will adorn the rooftops of the airport. It will be a beautiful blend of ancient and modern art.

The airport has a solar power system intact and is taking steps to be environmentally responsible. Also, it has a water harvesting system to reduce its water footprint.
