The scene where Bunny and Naina (Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone) are seen walking on slopes of snow-capped mountains was actually filmed in Himachal Pradesh’s Jalori Pass. It is a high-altitude mountain pass near Jibhi and connects the Kullu and Shimla valleys.

The place is known for its stunning landscape and trekking opportunities, including the trek to Serolsar Lake. The trekking point is approximately 75 km from Kullu, 110 km from Manali, and 150 km from Shimla. If you’re in Jibhi, you will just have to travel about 6 km to reach Jalori Pass.

Once you get there, you will find that there are many trails to trek on. We, of course, tried out the 360-degree viewpoint trek, which is also known as the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani trekking spot! Jalori Pass is nestled at an altitude of approximately 3,100 metres (10,200 feet). You have to navigate through dense forests to reach the hilltop, but the destination and the trek are worth it all! The pass usually opens in the second week of March and shuts down in December due to snowfall.

Nestled amidst vast coniferous forests, the Jalori Pass trek is a moderate-level trek. The best time to visit is between April to June and October and November when the weather becomes less cold and you can enjoy the natural green beauty of the place.
